About the indicator

The number of dentistry personnel per 10,000 people, from WHO. Dentistry is set apart as a separate indicator because almost everywhere it is financed differently from the rest of medicine — more often out of personal funds — and provision of it is poorly predicted by overall provision of physicians.

Important: The World Bank database has no such indicator, so coverage here is narrower: 193 territories against 245 for nursing personnel.
