About the indicator

The share of industrial value added — mining, manufacturing, electricity, water supply and construction — in GDP. The classification follows the ISIC divisions. A high share can mean either a developed manufacturing sector or dependence on resource extraction, so the indicator should be read alongside the share of manufacturing.
