Transfers of major conventional weapons abroad, in SIPRI trend-indicator values (TIV).
The ranking uses the latest available value for each country — the year is shown in the row. The table spans 1971 to 2024.
Top-20 · million TIV (constant 1990 prices)
The scale does not start at zero — the values lie in a narrow range, and starting from zero the bars would be indistinguishable. The axis ticks are labeled.

Transfers of major conventional weapons expressed in SIPRI trend-indicator values (TIV) in constant 1990 prices. TIV reflects the military capability of the equipment transferred rather than the price of the contract: deals of equal value can give different TIV, and secondhand equipment is valued below new.
Important: TIV cannot be read as the monetary value of the transfers — it is an indicator of the volume of military capability handed over.
