About the indicator

The number of female victims of intentional homicide per 100,000 of the female population. UNODC data through the World Bank database. The spread across countries on this indicator is noticeably smaller than on the male one: homicides of women depend less on the level of street crime and therefore change less sharply from country to country.

Important: The denominator is the female population, not the whole of it. The male and female rates cannot be added into an overall one: their denominators differ.
