About the indicator

Personal remittances sent from a country abroad. This is the mirror side of remittances received, and together the two divide the world into countries that take in labor migrants and countries that send them. The largest senders are the United States and the Gulf states, and for the latter the flow is enormous relative to the size of the economy: incomers make up the majority of those working there.

Important: Remittances sent and received should match at the world level, but they do not: some countries do not record the flow, and part of the transfers goes outside the statistics.
