About the indicator

Total CO2 emissions of a country from 1750 through the year shown. It is cumulative emissions rather than current ones that determine the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere and the warming already reached, which makes this indicator the basis of the argument about the historical responsibility of countries that industrialized earlier.
