About the indicator

The share of value added by agriculture, forestry, hunting and fishing in GDP. It is one of the most reliable indicators of the level of economic development: in low-income countries the sector delivers a quarter of GDP or more, in high-income ones usually less than 2%, even though the physical volume of output there can be far larger.
